General Information
Guild meetings are held the second Monday of every month at First United Methodist Church, 120 Knights Ave. North, Brandon, Florida 33510 from 7:00PM – 9:00PM. The guild website is www.brandonquiltguild.com (you’re on it!)
Dues:
Dues of $20.00 per year are payable at the October (fiscal year runs August 1 – July 31) meeting. Upon payment of dues each member will receive a guild membership card signed by the treasurer, and a current membership directory. Members will also receive a monthly newsletter and a password that will enable them to access information on the guild website. Guild membership pins are available for $4.00.
Membership Obligations:
- Each member is to have a fabric nametag to be worn at each guild activity.
- Each member is responsible for participating in the construction and sale of the guild’s major fundraiser, the raffle quilt. Each member is responsible for the sale of a minimum of 20 raffle tickets.
- Each member is asked to make at least one lap quilt or baby quilt a year to be donated to organizations supported by the guild. Batting and backing are provided for these quilts by the guild and workshops are held to produce some of these quilts.
Newsletter:
Each member will receive a monthly newsletter which includes all announcements of guild activities, birthdays, new books, quilt tips and quilting events. All members are welcome to share information through this newsletter. Your contributions keep the pages interesting and informative. Please contact the newsletter editor with your information by the fourth Monday deadline.
Library:
We have a large library of quilting books that are available for checkout (with a current membership card) at guild meetings. Books are checked out for a limit of one month. We accept donations and suggestions of quilt books for the library.
